Contract/Salary Update

Welcome to the

Bridgeport Education Association

where YOU are the BEA!

The mission of the BEA is to improve education at all levels. We promote the professional growth and welfare of members and advance the ideas of the education profession in order to render the highest possible service to the students, parents, and educators in the city of Bridgeport. As always, we encourage active participation in the formulation and implementation of educational policies and practices on all levels: Local (BEA), State (CEA), and National (NEA).

The purpose of this site is to provide you with Association information. We will update it periodically and invite you to return on a regular basis. In the near future, archives of the Bridgeline will be posted and a page identifying the outstanding successes of our teachers will be forthcoming as well.

Explore the site and contact us with suggestions and comments!

BEA Members,

Haven’t the children of Bridgeport suffered enough? Well, the City Council doesn’t think so. Apparently, they are seeking to outdo the Mayor by cutting another 1.4 million dollars from the school budget.

You can continue to help the children of Bridgeport with your attendance at the Budget Hearing on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:45 in City Hall. The City Council will be voting on the budget and the children need you to be there in protest to the proposed budget. You do not have to speak, just support those that do with your attendance.

If you are unable to attend the hearing or would like to do more, please contact one or all of the City Council, let them know you are a teacher in Bridgeport and that they need to put more funds in the education budget for the sake of Bridgeport’s children.
